There was a tradition of intergenerational involvement in the life of the church at North Chelmsford Congregational for the McSheehy family as Terry grew up. The” McSheehy team” set up, served and broke down for suppers, breakfasts, and fairs. Shows were staged and lit, as well. Terry continues to support North Congo’s Bean Suppers and quietly hosts the Ladies building (and filling his dining room with) baskets for the May Breakfast. After-school jobs meant that life was very busy for him, and they continued through college as he commuted to Salem State. At this juncture, Terry and friends worked together to establish the CYBL, formed from the former PYL and CYO basketball leagues. During this time, he also volunteered to coach with Harry Ayotte’s youth football league.  Following college, he joined the Air Force Security Service. This led to his being assigned to Kadena Air Force Base on the island of Okinawa, south of mainland Japan, to support the military efforts in Vietnam. Following his service, Terry began a long career in the defense/aerospace manufacturing industry, which continues today. He has been happy to be an involved member of the CHSAA for 30 years and President for 20.
