Dan Curran was, first and foremost, well respected for his unparalleled work ethic. His accomplishments on the football field played an important role in the success of the CHS team his senior year, as they won the MVC title and EMass Super Bowl.  Dan was named Player of the Year by the Sun, the Herald and the Globe and was the leading scorer in the EMass Division II. Dan’s full athletic scholarship at UNH led to his continued excellence on the football field, and he was named to the Atlantic-10 All Conference League, as a top 10 rusher in UNH history. While injuries challenged Dan during his 10-year professional football career, he persevered through several seasons in the NFL and the Arena Football League. He led the AFL in rushing in 2004. Dan’s professional career as a player led to his becoming a successful college coach at Merrimack College in North Andover. Over time, he has progressed from the position of Offensive Coordinator to Head Coach, leading to this year’s elevation of Merrimack to Division 1 status. Dan’s players have received high praise for their on-field accomplishments, and they have also received recognition for their exceptional community service record. Dan also volunteers as a youth sports coach in both Pop Warner and lacrosse. Dan’s exceptional personal attributes are influencing newer generations to the benefit of all of us.
